Kal has a stellar reputation and excellent management skills, especially around sports medicine.
I was training for an Everest summit attempt and had knee issues. He diagnosed ligament issues and advised on a recovery program. I would certainly recommend Kal, he’s a top physician.
I am a difficult patient as I have some knowledge of orthopaedic injuries being a veterinary surgeon but not enough to make a definitive diagnosis and treat my own injuries.
The saying is “a little bit of knowledge is dangerous” certainly applies in my case. I was convinced that I would never walk again let alone exercise after dislocating my right 1st MTP joint and tearing the medial meniscus in my right knee.
Kal has been fantastic with his diagnosis and discussing the various treatment options. I am fortunate that I didn't need surgery and responded well to intra articular injections of HA, rest and patience. I had given up on the idea of my first love, rugby, because of my age but I am now back to running which is fantastic.
I would fall into a depression if I could not exercise so I feel I have been given a second lease on life. There will be many more visits to Kal in the future as I do have a chronic injury, but I feel confident that I have chosen the best specialist to guide me through this.
I met Kal after being referred by a colleague for a knee injury I suffered while running. I hadn’t been a patient of Kal’s prior to the referral but was made to feel very at ease by his professionalism and manor and after initial consultation I agreed to undertake surgery a few days later with one of his surgical colleagues.
I have been a competitive ultra-runner for 10 years and running was my daily life. Up until my injury I had run daily with anything from 60 to 100 miles a week and had completed a number of ultra-distance races including the Marathon Des Sables and the Spine Race. After my injury I was unable to run due to pain and discomfort and felt that I would not be able to run again after the initial diagnosis.
Kal gave me reassurance that while I was undergoing a tricky procedure with no guaranteed outcome, I felt fully confident that at a minimum I would no longer be suffering daily pain and discomfort. The surgery went without a hitch and the aftercare was great and I am happy to say that after a few months of aftercare and physio I am back doing the thing I love and running most days.
Due to the years of abusing my knees and the sad fact I am getting older, I have taken the decision to quit ultra-running but still getting out running, hiking and biking most days and thanks to Kal I will be enjoying my outdoor pursuits for years to come.
I came to see Dr. Kal with regards to a hip injury as a result of HIIT training 1.5 years ago. My no. 1 concern was to be able to manage my injury pain whilst maintaining a satisfactory level of exercise.
Dr. Kal is very skilled and thoughtful. I was very happy with his examination and management style, his help and recommendations allowed me to recover without external interventions.
misdiagnoses).
I had seen multiple Dr's over the years but Kal was easily the most diligent and knowledgeable clinician I was treated by.
Following extensive tests, he provided me with all of the available options, the risks and his recommendation. Shortly after I was in surgery with one of the best surgeons in the UK.
I only wish I had only seen him years before as I now fully recovered. If I make it onto Ninja Warrior, it is his fault!
I consulted Dr Kal Parmar a few years ago, and again more recently. He immediately showed understanding of the distress I was living in, I injured my shoulder/arm, an arm that I use the most, so it’s critical for me in taking care my personal needs and activities.
I expressed my worries to lose my abilities to him. He has been empathetic and ready to facilitate my medical treatment as I am blind, and without hands, caused by an unexploded World War II bomb that I found during a time of peace in 1973.
He performed on my shoulder a related specific medical treatment, he was always very professional, and very caring too.
I would definitely highly recommend him. I was also very happy with the whole service provided by his team, secretaries and nurses.
Kal’s a superb doctor and I have complete trust in his skills, knowledge and ability to get me back in shape. He’s dealt with various sports related injuries include knee, shoulder and adductor groin problems.
I would strongly recommend Kal. I really like the way he identifies the cause of a problem and moves on quickly with solutions that get you moving again!
Dr Kal’s passion for Sports Medicine and professionalism are his best traits, especially when you’re looking for a doctor to look after your precious health.
I’m very grateful for his expertise as it’s helped me during a hamstring injury just before my natural bodybuilding competition. I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to compete again and luckily I did and came in 2nd place.
Furthermore, Dr Kal always guided me with professional advice for my clients all around the World. Once you meet a doctor who is such an expert , trustworthy and always willing to help, the distance its worth travelling for.
shoulder. The treatment recommended worked incredibly well, every day I am amazed at how much it has improved.
I had daily pain, with very limited movement, and now it's pretty much back to normal. Kal was also a pretty cool guy. Always very calm and made me feel like everything was going to be just fine.
I had AC joint instability with arthritis and was treated with prolotherapy. He sorted my shoulder out (he's a magician) and was always a pleasure to go and see.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.
I had injury to my superior tibio-fibular joint of my knee causing calf pain and also had inflammation on my hip.
After reduced training I was able to complete the London marathon, which, at one point I thought I would not be able to do and would have to cancel - would have been very disappointing as I was running for charity.
I had seen various consultants before seeing Kal and he was the first person who was able to diagnose my injury and treat it. I am now able to train properly (injury free) and looking forward to achieving a PB for the New York marathon
It was a lovely and well run clinic. The admin process was very smooth, easy to book appointments
I came to Kal after a knee injury received playing netball.
I was told to rest in and it would be ok but it was difficult to walk without the knee giving way. I went to see Kal, who within a couple of minutes diagnosed my ACL injury. He said I'll need an MRI to confirm and sure enough, the MRI confirmed exactly what he said!
Without seeing Kal, it would have taken years to achieve the same result. I was able to take his recommendations and ended up having reconstructive surgery. I am now able to get back to my usual hobbies and enjoy my family activities again.
I came to see Dr Parmar in December 2023 with pain in both of my ankles diagnosed as tendonitis. I was unable to properly run and had to compete in the 2023 Antarctic Ice Marathon 2 weeks later, an event I spent months preparing for.
Dr Parmar diagnosed and injected me on the day so I could make it in time for the event. The clinic and admin process was helpful and efficient to enable me to get the treatment I needed in the quickest possible time.
I came 11th overall (and 2nd in my age group) and I would not have made it without his help.
I am very grateful indeed
Dr Parmar has been treating me for about 2 years now and his excellent diagnostic skills were able to get to the root of legacy sports injuries I'd suffered for years.
As a specialist sports medicine doctor, he was able to draw on his experience of treating professional athletes and apply it to the non-athlete with legacy injuries that were not treated properly or mis-diagnosed at the time, particularly soft-tissue injuries that even after 30+ years respond to treatment.
I would recommend Dr Parmar to anyone, athlete or not because he will listen to you, diagnose you correctly and draw up a treatment plan that works.
Ifirst came to see Dr Parmar 9 months ago as I had suffered many years of intense pain in both my hips, glutes and lower back. I would limp every time I walked and I am only 36 years old!
Not only is Dr Parmar incredibly knowledgeable and experienced in his field of sports and exercise medicine, he is also very friendly and warm. He instantly put me at ease and I had complete trust that he was the right Doctor to help me. He was very clear and thorough in his diagnosis and treatment options.
Following PRP injections and a 6 week course of shockwave treatment all my pain had gone and I am now able to walk pain free with no limp. This is the best I've felt in a decade!
I would highly recommend Dr Parmar and his team. The service was fantastic from start to finish. Booking and changing appointments was very easy and efficient. Lovely modern clinic near Liverpool street.
I was referred to Kal to treat a long-standing injury to my forearm.
He diagnosed the problem quickly and was very honest in his appraisal of my injury, outlining clearly what the issue was and what the possible treatments available were.
Following a procedure that Kal performed, I made a full and complete recovery.
Kal is extremely professional & knowledgeable and I would not hesitate in recommending him to others.
I tore cartilage in my knee following many years of long-distance running. This led to keyhole surgery to trim some cartilage. Since then I see Kal every 6 months for a Durolane injection and for a general check up on how my knees are performing. The advice and application of treatment has meant that I can be physically active at a high level.
Straight from the start I trusted his guidance and advice. He’s straight talking and is very clear, which is reassuring. I wouldn’t not see anyone else.
Kal is fundamentally a really nice guy, I really enjoy his company and his style. It puts me at ease and gives me confidence and reassurance. He is first class.
