Dr. Arti Mahto is a London-trained rheumatologist with extensive experience in all aspects of rheumatology. She graduated with distinction from Cardiff University in 2007 and joined the specialist register for rheumatology and general internal medicine in 2019.

She  has a special interest in early inflammatory arthritis, such as rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis, and utilizes musculoskeletal ultrasound to aid early diagnosis and treatment monitoring. She earned her PhD from Barts and the London, focusing on synovial biopsies and tailored treatments in rheumatoid arthritis.

Dr. Mahto is experienced in managing biologic therapies for arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. She also leads a young adult clinic supporting them through key stages of managing rheumatological diseases. She collaborates closely with Dr. Parmar to ensure early diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory conditions.

At King’s College Hospital, Dr. Mahto serves as the vasculitis lead and runs clinics for patients with interstitial lung disease. She has expertise in treating complex systemic connective tissue diseases and has established a fibromyalgia service, offering a holistic and personalized approach. Additionally, she has a strong interest in bone health, particularly in post-menopausal women.

Dr. Mahto is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and a member of the British Rheumatology Society. She is actively involved in clinical trials and has published research in leading journals, including The Lancet Rheumatology. Dr. Mahto emphasises a balanced approach, integrating pharmacological treatment with patients’ lifestyle and holistic needs.
